Some more information about how to distinguish the Metallifacture jacks
The metallifacture Jack was introduced from the VIN’ s
850549, 877519, 860661, 886247 (source J.30 Jaguar spare parts catalogue)
until the patent was approved on 9th of August 62, the jack had a temporarily writing on the jack “PATENT APPLIED FOR” and was found in E Type until November 62. Thereafter only Jacks with the Pat. ni. 903079 were found
Meaning that all cars hereafter MUST have PATENT APLIED FOR Jack.
850549 – November 62
860661 – November 62
877519 – November 62
886247 – November 62
to read the entire document click the picture above or here.
Cars delivered from November 62 onwards have the Pat No. 903079 on their jack
The jack, not very useful but a must have (the right one) for the serious E Type owner

Hello,
I have an early Series 1 4.2L OTS. My jack is of the correct type according to your info and appears to be the original for the car. Except it’s painted black like the one in your picture above instead of grey. The paint is old and worn. It has the attached handle with a clip on the end. I have 2 questions.
1. Is there supposed to be a washer under the circlip holding the handle on?
2. I have a grooved washer that appears to go inside on the ball bearings that is broken in half. Do you know where I can get another replacement?
Thanks, Ted

Which is the correct jack for a 1969 Series 2 OTS? Ratchet handle, or fixed?
