The Spare Parts Catalogue J. 30 for 3.8 has always been very hard to find. According to my knowledge, there were 2 original prints, one from August 61 and and an updated version of June 63.
The first 61 print does have a total of 307 pages whereas the 63 reprint does have 322 pages. This is owed by the many changes during the first two years. The 63 reprint contains the item numbers of the earlier parts always indicated up to which VIN the item was used plus the newer item number and its first VIN appearance.
I personally find the 63 reprint much more interesting, albeit it only pictures the newer item, but has the earlier and the replacement part number listed.
The appearance of the binder remained unchanged, at least up to what I have seen.

As original E Type items are becoming extremely rare, they will also become very hard to identify if someone has now reference.
Make up your own mind on what to spend what sort of money and for what purpose you want to use such a catalogue. The thinner one is sometimes offered on Ebay for direct purchase and lot cheaper and should be good enough to give you important information for your restoration but I would certainly not offer or even sell the third version as an original.
